Aynho, Oxfordshire, Oak Wine Cellar (1,230 bottles)
-
This 1,230 bottle, solid oak wine cellar was a truly end to end project.
-
We undertook all of the initial light building works, including knocking out some of the later addition brick work, taking down the old cellar ceiling and raising it for additional head room, whilst also raising the old radiator pipes into the ceiling for a much cleaner look. The stone walls and floor were then repointed and cleaned ahead of painting throughout.
-
The electrics were all fully re-wired with new spots added and a feature pendant on the stairs.
-
This cellar has particular emphasis on wooden cases with capacity for 59 full size cases or 118 half cases. There is also individual magnum racking for 115 bottles. With 9 metres of working tops there is plenty of room for some large feature bottles as well as standing wine ahead of drinking.
